When the tide is out, the sea unveils fascinating rock pools that are a perfect for families to explore and you can also make your way around Orcombe Point to Sandy Bay, which offers stunning views of the famous Jurassic Coast.
For those looking for a more exciting day out at Exmouth, you can try your hand at water sport activities in the shape of kayaking, windsurfing, water skiing and paddle boarding.
If you’re looking for a more relaxed day out to the beach, Exmouth is a fantastic place for both long and short walks, both along the coastline and up the cliffs at Orcombe Point that features incredible views of the Devon Coast.
Currently the Exmouth seafront is under development and next year will see the waterfront transformed in a huge project that is going to bring event space and new restaurants to Exmouth, including a new café from the award winning chef Michael Caines.
For those visiting this year, you can get a unique dining experience on the River Exe Café, a floating café just off the Exe Estuary that is open between April and September that offers local and fresh produce, as well as stunning views.
There is also a large restaurant and bowling facility along Exmouth seafront. Ocean Play is a great place for families to enjoy something to eat and have a few rounds of bowling. There is also pool tables and an arcade section to keep the little ones occupied while you enjoy a coffee.
If you fancy cooking yourself, you can always take your own BBQ to the sand and get your own family barbeque on the go and of course, if you are fancying an ice cream during your day out at the beach, Exmouth has plenty of local and family run ice cream parlours a stones throw away.
If you're staying in one of our dog friendly accommodation, Exmouth beach allows dogs on the sand from the end of September to the beginning of May.
