Kitchen Supervisor / Chef
We are looking for a friendly and versatile chef with experience running a kitchen and producing high-quality food.
Duties will vary from cooking our traditional home-cooked pub menu in our Clubhouse located at our holiday resort to fresh dishes to support the theme park food offerings. You will have a role in staff planning, supervision, and training, plus stock control, stock taking, and ensuring all company health and hygiene practices are adhered to. You will manage designated areas in line with all relevant H&S and Food Policy legislation and ensure that profit is being maximised in all areas of your control.
Unlike many Highstreet or other theme park operations, we design all our menus and concepts in-house, and in your role, you would have the opportunity to be involved in this aspect of our constant strive to improve our food offering.
You will be expected to:
· Provide assistance in designing new menus to coincide with the seasons, Summer, Winter, Spring and Autumn.
· Ensure stock rotation in the fridges and constant waste reduction i.e., minimising over-ordering.
· Do daily preparation and training of staff on the new dishes.
· Supervise team, and you are expected to lead by example i.e., working efficiently and keeping the kitchen a safe environment to work in.
· Check the freshness of food and ingredients
· Cook customers’ orders according to their preferences.
· Ensure uniform serving sizes and quality of meals.
· Inspect supplies, equipment, and work areas for cleanliness and functionality.
· Train, and supervise our F&B team members in the kitchen.
· Follow food safety best practices and ensure that all team are compliant.
· Act with appropriate caution in a dangerous environment where there are knives and high-temperature surfaces.
· Come up with new ideas and specialties that tempt guests into our food venues.
· Determine how much food to order and maintain an appropriate supply withing company guideline.
· Be flexible to take on extra duties when necessary.
We also cater for corporate and other events throughout the year.
Our Business Hours for Food Service are 8am – 10:30pm to match our Theme Park and Holiday Park operations.
Please note – this role requires you to be available to work weekends, early mornings, evenings, during school holiday periods, and bank holidays, although we can be flexible in the shift patterns if necessary.
Hours will be rostered in advance and vary dependent on the time of year. Flexibility is also required from you to meet peak and off-peak demands of our opening.
Our Main season runs from May to September, but we are open to guests/visitors all year.
